Health Careers International (HCI) Opts for Ex Libris Alma Library Services and Primo Discovery Solution

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce Health Careers International has selected the Alma library services platform and Primo discovery and delivery solution

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, December 15, 2020 – Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Health Careers International (HCI) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution. Health Careers International is an Australian-based company that provides healthcare education and training programs for students who plan careers as healthcare professionals around the world.

Until now, LibGuides has served as HCI’s online library system. The company decided to upgrade its library services in preparation for the increase in enrollment expected when the COVID‑19 pandemic subsides.

The company plans to increase its collection of e-books to address the needs of students in higher education and vocational education, and Alma and Primo will enable easy access to both paid and open access material through a single, integrated search interface. In addition, because the library team will manage all systems centrally, librarians and academic staff on various campuses will be able to collaborate more easily.

With Alma and Primo, library staff will have greater access to teaching and learning resources so that they can more easily support the institution’s educational goals. In implementing the Alma platform and Primo discovery solution, HCI expects to strengthen students’ learning experience and enhance the user experience of both instructors and library staff.

HCI Managing Director Kunnumpurath Bijo commented, “As we add more courses and grow our student base globally, Alma and Primo will help us realize our goal to become a global education provider in the online learning space. Ex Libris is known for innovation, and we are pleased to join the ranks of the majority of Australian universities in deploying the latest technology in library management.”

Osher Gilinsky, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris Asia Pacific, added, “We welcome Health Careers International to the worldwide Alma and Primo user communities. The innovation provided by our higher-ed platform will assist HCI in upgrading its library systems and enriching the learning experience of its students.”
