University of Verona Chooses Ex Libris Alma Library Services Platform and Primo Discovery Solution

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the University of Verona has selected the Alma library services platform and Primo discovery and delivery solution.

BOLOGNA, Italy, June 18, 2019 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the University of Verona has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution. The university will be migrating from the Ex Libris Aleph® integrated library system (ILS).

The library team at Verona currently has numerous separate workflows, which causes complexity in the management of their work processes. The situation is further complicated by the library’s use of additional software for link resolution and resource recommendations, and the need to support and maintain such software.

Daniela Brunelli, coordinator of the university’s library system, said, “The university and the library always look at quality and sustainability when making strategic decisions. Thanks to the commitment of the Alma project group, coordinated by Marianna Gemma Brenzoni, Head of the Library Automation Service, our move to the Alma platform and the Primo VE discovery solution will help us strengthen the services and support that we provide for our users and enable the librarians to spend more time on high-value professional activities.”

Alma and Primo will provide the university with a unified platform that will make it easier for users to search the library’s resources and for staff members to follow up on personalized resource recommendations. The integrated, shared workflows that will become available through the platform will streamline operations at Verona and reduce data redundancy, while the advanced analytics and benchmarking features will help the library’s managers make better-informed decisions.

Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, said, “The Ex Libris Alma community in Italy continues to grow, with customers migrating from Aleph as well as from systems from other vendors. We welcome this decision by our long-term customer, the University of Verona, to move to Alma and Primo.”
