Ex Libris Launches the App Center, a One-Stop Shop for Community Apps and Extensions

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the launch of the Ex Libris App Center, an open hub providing customers with a single place to find ways to complement and extend their Ex Libris solutions.

JERUSALEM, Israel, May 28, 2019 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the launch of the Ex Libris App Center, an open hub providing customers with a single place to find ways to complement and extend their Ex Libris solutions. The initial App Center launch features Ex Libris and community-developed apps, extensions, and customizations for the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and the Ex Libris Primo®, Rosetta™, and campusM™ solutions, with more Ex Libris solutions to be added in the near future.

The App Center has been built to support our prolific, creative developer community as the number of community-developed apps and extensions continues to grow, leveraging Ex Libris open APIs and platform services.

The new App Center open hub is at the heart of the Ex Libris open approach to the community ecosystem, enabling customers to easily share their apps and extensions for the benefit of the entire Ex Libris community. With the App Center, customers can adapt their Ex Libris solutions to fit their organization’s growing needs and custom workflows.

Ex Libris is also glad to announce the upcoming Alma “On-Platform” Apps, functionality that will enable developers to write apps which run on the Alma cloud platform itself. The new apps will interact with an open page in Alma and use REST APIs to update data. Alma “On-Platform” Apps will unlock a new, unprecedented level of openness for our customers.

“Innovation has always been one of our core values at Ex Libris. With the launch of the App Center today, we embrace the innovation that is happening in our impressive developer community,” noted Bar Veinstein, president of Ex Libris. “We continually strive to find new ways to allow our customers to leverage their Ex Libris solutions while always focusing on openness in our mindset and our approach.”
