University of Denver Joins Ex Libris Esploro Early Adopter Program

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the University of Denver has decided to become an early adopter of the Esploro research services solution.

CHICAGO, IL, August 21, 2018 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the University of Denver has decided to become an early adopter of the Ex Libris Esploro™ research services solution. Esploro will facilitate the capture, management, and dissemination of the university’s research output and data across all disciplines; improve the visibility of graduate students’ and faculty research; automate the updating of scholar profiles; and enable the research office to track and analyze research activities.

As a participant in the Esploro early adopter program, the University of Denver will be closely involved in providing product feedback and shaping the Esploro solution to meet the needs of research universities. The first release will be available to early adopters in 2019.

The Esploro services will constitute a major element in the University of Denver’s initiative to create an efficient process for highlighting the faculty’s work and expertise. Currently, multiple disconnected systems are used to collect and publish research information. Through the consolidation and automation of these systems and processes, Esploro will boost the visibility of the university’s scholarly work.

The University of Denver also intends to use Esploro services to improve the way in which faculty profiles appear on the web, both internally and externally, and to help university departments collaborate with each other on interdisciplinary subject areas.

University of Denver Dean of Libraries Michael Levine-Clark commented, “The ability of Esploro to gather a vast amount of authoritative information about our faculty, as both scholars and teachers, is intriguing. The library needs to play a central role in this process, and Esploro will contribute to it substantially. Furthermore, we believe that Esploro will enable us to easily pull information about grants and publications from various systems and present that information to our faculty and the world. These features will improve the library’s process for managing and populating the institutional repository, assist the university in communicating about its scholars’ research, and help faculty members fulfill the requirements for annual reporting to the university.”

“We are pleased to welcome the University of Denver to the Esploro early adopter program,” said Nadav Doron, VP of Research Solutions at Ex Libris. “In addition to improving the visibility of both research output and faculty profiles at this leading institution, the Esploro services will streamline the university’s research workflows.”
