Koç University Selects Ex Libris campusM Mobile App Platform

Ex Libris is pleased to announce Koç University has chosen the Ex Libris campusM Enterprise platform.

PARIS, FRANCE, May 26, 2016 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Istanbul-based Koç University, one of the leading academic and research institutions in Turkey, has chosen the Ex Libris campusM® Enterprise platform for developing and delivering personalized applications and services to students and staff.

With campusM, the University will now be able to offer students highly personalized services via native mobile apps. Koç will also be able to use its existing in-house IT expertise to develop new services as requested by stakeholders. The ability to create unique functionality will give the University a considerable advantage in the increasingly competitive Turkish higher‑education market.

Koç Chief Information Officer Serkan Çil explained: “Like many large universities, we have a number of separate systems with information locked away in silos, a situation that presents students and staff with various challenges. Mobile devices are very important to our users, so we decided that the time was right to invest in a mobile platform. We chose campusM because it will enable us to personalize both data and apps and make them available through push and on‑demand services.”

As well as using native maps and integrating campusM with the University's Moodle and PeopleSoft® systems, Koç will develop native apps through the campusM App Extension Kit (AEK) and will use iBeacons® technology for presence- and location-aware apps.

“The role-based capability of the campusM platform means that we will be able to deliver information to students, teachers, and staff based on their unique requirements,” explained Mr. Çil. “In this way, we will increase engagement and user satisfaction. We are looking forward to leveraging the rapid deployment of campusM and the App Extension Kit to build on the native out‑of‑the‑box apps.”

Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, said: “I am delighted to welcome Koç University to the campusM community. We are seeing an increasing number of customers deploying mobile applications to improve satisfaction, engagement, and the services available to their users. The campusM platform provides a fast, flexible, and reliable way to make this happen.”
