Ex Libris Leganto to Advance Teaching and Learning at the University of the Sunshine Coast

Ex Libris is pleased to announce Australia’s University of the Sunshine Coast has adopted the Ex Libris Leganto reading-list solution.

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA, April 14, 2016 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Australia’s University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) has decided to adopt the Ex Libris Leganto reading-list solution and join the Leganto early‑adopter program.

Leganto is a cloud-based, end-to-end solution that interoperates with an institutional environment and facilitates active, engaging collaboration between instructors, students, and librarians for the creation, management, use, and evaluation of reading lists.

Having recently implemented the Ex Libris Alma® resource management service and Primo® discovery and delivery solution, the university decided to add the fully integrated reading-list solution to assist instructors in the creation and management of course reading lists and boost the collaboration between the library and teaching staff. The management of copyright compliance was another important factor in USC’s decision to adopt Leganto.

“Leganto will help us better integrate our library and learning management systems. We see this integration as a key foundation for enhancing library services to the USC academic community in support of teaching and learning,” said Sandra Jeffries, director of information services at the University of the Sunshine Coast. “To maximize our contribution to the development of Leganto from the ANZ regional perspective, we decided to join the early adopter program and are looking forward to a collaborative development process.”

Ziv BenZvi, Ex Libris vice president for Asia Pacific, remarked: “With its proven record of achievement in teaching and learning, USC is an important addition to the early adopter program and to the Leganto community at large. Leganto will help the USC library expand its reach, improve the experience of both instructors and students, and demonstrate the library’s value to the institution.”
