ProQuest Ebook Central™ Named SIIA Business Technology CODiE Award Finalist for Best Scholarly Research Information Solution

ProQuest Ebook Central was named a finalist for the 2016 SIIA CODiE Awards for Best Scholarly Research Information Solution.

ANN ARBOR, MI, April 22, 2016 – ProQuest Ebook Central, an innovative ebook platform, was named a finalist for the 2016 SIIA CODiE Awards for Best Scholarly Research Information Solution, which recognizes the “research information solution that provides high quality content and meets rigorous standards for the academic and scientific researchers and professionals.". Finalists represent the information industry’s best products, technologies, and services in the software, content and business technology.

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for more than 30 years. The awards offer 91 categories that are organized by industry focus of education technology and business technology. Ebook Central was honored as one of three finalists in its category.

“I am amazed by the level of innovation and creativity of the products that have been selected as this year's CODiE Award finalists. We are happy to recognize them for their great contributions and impact they are making on the software, content and business technology industries,” said Ken Wasch, President of SIIA.

Ebook Central launched this year, delivering a modern ebook experience to support libraries and researchers around the globe. With an administrative portal that simplifies workflows, Ebook Central eliminates the complexities surrounding ebooks. It features an extraordinary range of content with approximately 800,000 books available on the platform – including unique subscriptions such as Chinese language and reference works. Its multiple access models can be used in combination to meet libraries’ specific needs and budgets, making collection building flexible and affordable. The platform’s development was guided by intensive study of the ebook workflows of librarians and researchers and ongoing market surveys that have explored acquisition trends. The result is a platform that enables libraries to significantly improve users’ research outcomes and boost the productivity of their staff.

“The response to Ebook Central from our customers has been exceptional and we love hearing how the platform is enabling them to fully leverage the benefits of ebooks and eliminate the headaches,” said Kevin Sayar, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Books. “We’re delighted that Ebook Central’s promise to deliver improvements to virtually every aspect of the ebook experience is also being recognized by our peers,”
