Ex Libris Alma and Primo Chosen by Southern Adventist University

Ex Libris is pleased to announce that Southern Adventist University has selected Alma® and Primo® solutions.

CHICAGO, IL, February 17, 2016 – Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Southern Adventist University (SAU) in Tennessee has selected the Ex Libris® Alma® resource management solution and the Primo® discovery and delivery solution, replacing their previous EBSCO Discovery Service system.

Having run the Ex Libris Aleph integrated library system for over ten years, SAU was keen to remain with the high quality technical and customer service standards of Ex Libris, while moving to a cloud-based platform. Adopting Alma and Primo will enable the university to manage library operations across all materials and collections via a single solution, totally integrated with a discovery interface that exposes the university’s full wealth of collections.

“This was an easy decision for us to make,” Dan Maxwell, library director at SAU, commented. “Ex Libris has been a trusted partner for the past decade, and we are confident that the Alma/Primo combination is right for us. We look forward to making the transition to a next generation library system, backed by the finest support team in the academic library market.”

Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, remarked: “I am happy to see Southern Adventist University strengthening its relationship with Ex Libris through this decision to move to Alma and Primo. Because of its web-based architecture, Alma can be used by any type of library organization—from complex consortia to small institutions such as SAU. We look forward to seeing the teaching and learning benefits that both solutions will bring to the faculty and students at Southern.”
