ProQuest Appoints Gersch to Lead Serials Solutions

Respected information industry pro Michael Gersch has been named ProQuest Senior Vice President and General Manager of business unit Serials Solutions, the industry leader in providing libraries with digital discovery tools and integrated management solutions.

"Serials Solutions has experienced dramatic growth through innovative new services such as Summon and I feel absolutely confident that Michael — with his ideal mix of experience as a general manager and in finance and strategic planning positions — is going to take the business to the next level," said Marty Kahn, ProQuest CEO. "I'm equally delighted that Rob will be supporting the company by leading the sales effort and thank him for his 18 months of dedicated and smart leadership."

Mr. Gersch joins Serials Solutions from LexisNexis, where – as Vice-President and Managing Director, Litigation Solutions – he managed a division of both high-growth and mature business units. In just two years, Mr. Gersch re-organized and transformed the division from a standalone product focus to a customer solutions-based approach that yielded new products, two acquisitions and alliances, ultimately leading to significant revenue growth. With LexisNexis for eight years, Mr. Gersch held successively greater responsibility throughout his career, with previous roles that included Vice President and General Management of Case Assessment and Discovery, and CourtLink. Prior to LexisNexis, he was Vice President, Finance and Strategic Planning, at Washington-based Advanced Radio Telecom, an early stage fixed wireless telecommunications company that provided broadband data and voice services to the carrier and enterprise market.

Mr. Gersch holds an MBA from Emory University and a Masters of International Business (IMB) from the University of Linz in Austria. His undergraduate degree is from State University of New York at Geneseo. Mr. Gersch and his family live in metropolitan Seattle.
