RefWorks Adds New Direct Export Partners
BETHESDA, MD, September 6, 2009 – RefWorks-COS announced it recently added several new direct export partners to RefWorks, its flagship web-based research management service. The online information databases EMBASE.com, ebrary, Scitopia, and Explorit join hundreds of others in linking directly to RefWorks. With these direct links, RefWorks users can export search results from the databases directly into a RefWorks account by simply clicking a RefWorks button on the results screen. This direct export link greatly expedites the process of gathering research information, seamlessly transferring information from one service to the other. "RefWorks is one of the premiere web-based solutions for citations management," noted Deep Web Technologies' President, Abe Lederman. "Integration with RefWorks was a natural step for expanding Explorit's value to our clients, who rely on RefWorks for citation management."
"We're committed to simplifying research information management for the more than 3 million RefWorks users worldwide," commented Colleen Stempien, COO for RefWorks-COS, "and we're so pleased that important information providers like Deep Web Technologies and ebrary share that commitment. Direct export linking is a feature that has tremendous impact for our mutual users by expediting the research process."
The direct export occurs via a special API built by RefWorks and made available to any information providers who wish to provide their users with added convenience. More than 300 organizations have implemented the RefWorks Direct Export API, including those of many of the world's largest online information providers like LexisNexis, Elsevier, OCLC, IEEE, BioMed Central, EBSCO, Google Scholar, JSTOR, and the entire ProQuest range of information services.
