Serials Solutions welcomes new providers to the KnowledgeWorks
Serials Solutions, a business unit of ProQuest, announced today that eight e-resource content providers have become KnowledgeWorks Certified by pledging to work with Serials Solutions to supply the highest quality bibliographic metadata to customers through the Serials Solutions KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase. Current KnowledgeWorks Certified providers include IEEE, ProQuest, Oxford University Press, OpinionArchives, Project MUSE, Now Publishers, American Institute of Physics, and Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL).
“The intent of the Serials Solutions KnowledgeWorks Certification Program is to develop the best possible collaboration between Serials Solutions and content providers,” says Sherrard Ewing, Provider Relations Specialist at Serials Solutions. “These relationships will help Serials Solutions best represent the content providers’ metadata and better serve the end user.”
“Becoming KnowledgeWorks Certified was a smooth and simple process, with an excellent and vendor-friendly workflow,” says Bea Klotz of CEEOL, an online periodical database with a focus on Central, East, and Southeastern Europe. “As a Certified content provider, we can now access the online Client Center to verify and improve metadata to ensure that CEEOL’s subscribers receive up-to-date, quality data on over 300 CEE/SEE periodicals.”
Greater collaboration also helps Serials Solutions to more quickly resolve issues when they occur. Serials Solutions provides content partners with Serials Solutions accounts, and access to metrics to verify the status of their metadata and its impact on their clients. So that mutual subscribers are aware of which of their providers are KnowledgeWorks Certified, Serials Solutions supplies certified providers with KnowledgeWorks Certified logos and promotional materials. Serials Solutions also tracks certified providers on the Serials Solutions webpage.
When publishers participate in the KnowledgeWorks Certification program, librarians can trust that Serials Solutions and providers will collaborate to provide the best possible access to e-resources.
