ProQuest Announces Key Sales Staff Appointments

ProQuest has appointed Ron Clowney Vice President, US Higher Education & Government Sales. In addition, Dave Leach has been appointed Director, Strategic Account Management, both reporting to Simon Beale.

ProQuest has appointed Ron Clowney Vice President, US Higher Education & Government Sales.  Clowney will be responsible for US sales of all published and distributed electronic, print and microform products to academic, public, government and medical school libraries as well as consortial groups.  He will manage ProQuest's revenues within the operating plan for the company's largest sales region. Clowney will report to Simon Beale, Senior Vice President of Global Sales.  In addition, Dave Leach has been appointed Director, Strategic Account Management, also reporting to Simon Beale.   Leach will work closely with other sales (and non-sales) leaders in creating and implementing Strategic Account processes and programs to enhance ProQuest's customer relationships both domestically and globally.

Clowney has been with ProQuest for 24 years, and joined the sales force in 1986.  During his tenure, Clowney was also Executive Director, Government & Medical Sales for ProQuest and chief negotiator for FEDLINK.  Clowney also held the National Sales Director role at Ovid Technologies, where he was responsible for leading academic sales.  Clowney graduated with honors with a political science degree from the University of Michigan.  He is an active member of the American Libraries Association, Special Libraries Association, Medical Libraries Association, and the Association for College and Research Libraries.  Clowney currently resides in Washington, D.C., and will be relocating to Ann Arbor, MI. 

Leach has more than 18 years of sales and marketing management experience in the publishing, online research databases and software as a service marketplace.   He joined ProQuest in 1999 and has held roles as Director of Western Regional Sales, and Vice President of US Electronic and Latin American Sales.  Most recently he was Vice President of Global Sales for Serials Solutions, a division of ProQuest.  Leach earned his M.B.A. from Western Michigan University and a graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Toledo with a degree in Accounting.
