SirsiDynix Partners with Serials Solutions for Integrated E-Resource Management and Discovery

SirsiDynix introduces ERMS and MARC records service

SirsiDynix, the global leader in strategic technology solutions for libraries, announced today a worldwide technology agreement with Serials Solutions, a business unit of ProQuest Information and Learning and the industry’s premier provider of e-resource access and management services. SirsiDynix will resell an integrated suite of Serials Solutions electronic resource management and discovery tools, including ERMS (Electronic Resource Management System) lifecycle manager for electronic subscriptions, Central Search federated search engine, Article Linker™ OpenURL link resolver and Full MARC Records service.

The suite of products offers libraries unique capabilities because of its connection to an integrated and hosted electronic resource knowledge base that is updated daily. Eliminating the need for batch updates to the knowledge base, the suite ensures current, easy-to-manage resources for librarians and consistent, accurate answers for users. Also included with each Serials Solutions product is the industry-leading AMS (Access & Management Suite) management service, featuring the original A-to-Z Title List.

“Serials Solutions and SirsiDynix share a firm commitment to helping libraries and their users successfully manage and access electronic resources,” said Jane Burke, Serials Solutions general manager. “SirsiDynix customers will now have more options for integrated electronic resource management.” Berit Nelson, SirsiDynix vice president of technical product design, said, “As a result of partnerships with key industry leaders like Serials Solutions, SirsiDynix provides the most comprehensive integrated technology environment for libraries worldwide.

“Through this agreement, SirsiDynix offers an integrated approach to electronic resource management that will give libraries a winning combination of strong functionality, ease of use for end users and streamlined management tools. These solutions address the ever-increasing needs to effectively manage the electronic portion of the library collection,” added Nelson.

ERMS and Full MARC Records are the first products of their kind that SirsiDynix has introduced to its customers. Central Search and Article Linker will be offered both standalone and integrated into SirsiDynix’s suite of public access products.
