Serials Solutions releases E-Journal Portal feature as part of new E-Journal Access & Management Suite

Serials Solutions, Inc. announced today that E-Journal Portal has been released as a feature of its new E-Journal Access & Management Suite (E-Journal A.M.S.). E-Journal Portal delivers librarians the lowest maintenance e-journal management solution and includes daily updates to data.

E-Journal Portal provides a customizable, single-page interface for patrons to access e-journals through a browsable A-to-Z title list, title searching, subject browsing, and links to full-text databases. Hosted on Serials Solutions’ servers, E-Journal Portal eliminates the need for librarians to post HTML reports and provides daily updates to library-specific data. Librarians just need to place a single link on their website to activate E-Journal Portal.

"E-Journal Portal lets our students and employees easily locate periodical titles available in all our library research databases in a ‘one-stop shopping’ concept," commented Suzanne Sawyer, Electronic Information Services Librarian at Lansing Community College. "It supplies current information to our users without adding more work to my full plate of managing the hundreds of research database subscriptions."

Peter McCracken, MLS, Co-Founder and Director of Library Services for Serials Solutions, added, "Librarians have been asking for an e-journal management tool that requires virtually no maintenance, is highly customizable to each individual library and provides daily data updates. Through E-Journal Portal we’re able to meet their wishes and deliver several e-journal access tools in one, easy-to-use interface."

E-Journal A.M.S, which includes E-Journal Portal, has replaced the A-to-Z Title List as Serials Solutions’ keystone service. A.M.S. includes all the features that were available through the traditional A-to-Z service, plus several new and upcoming features, including A-to-Z title lists, title searching, subject browsing, Journal Linker, E-Journal Portal, ulrichsweb.com™ linking, data files, and soon to be released management and acquisition tools.

E-Journal A.M.S. is available at no additional charge to all Serials Solutions subscribers. Libraries can implement some or all of its features depending on their needs.
