ProQuest One Business, Rapido and Pivot-RP Honored in Charleston Advisor’s ‘Readers’ Choice’ Awards

Business resource named ‘Best New Product’ in magazine’s annual awards issue

The Charleston Advisor, a renowned source of reviews for information databases and digital resources, honored three ProQuest products in its 19th annual Readers’ Choice Awards – including ProQuest One Business, which was launched in early 2021 and named “Best New Product” by the Advisor.

Here’s what the editors had to say about the three most recent award-winners from ProQuest:

  • ProQuest One Business (named “Best New Product/Service”): “This new database from ProQuest is a one-stop shop for most business faculty, students, and working professionals…It combines many of the top business-oriented databases on ProQuest in a single portal with a slick and intuitive interface.”

  • Ex Libris Rapido (named “One to Watch”): “The service has been taken to a new level…[Rapido] allows resource sharing features to be built right into the Primo discovery without forcing the patron to go to a separate website to request books, articles, and other materials not locally held. The expedited workflows greatly assist library staff in filling requests while patrons have one stop shopping for most bibliographic needs that cannot be met by the local library.”

  • Ex Libris Pivot-RP (awarded for “Best Effort): “Ex Libris…has released an updated version of their database for research funding opportunities…the service has great content, an intuitive interface and clear navigation.”

Award-winners were selected by an editorial board in a September 2021 virtual meeting. Though typically given out every year, the Readers’ Choice awards were skipped in 2020 due to the pandemic – so this year’s awards cover an extended period, says the Advisor.

“Over the past two years, the ProQuest and Ex Libris teams have worked tirelessly with our customers to understand the new challenges they’re facing, and to build solutions that make a real difference,” said Matti Shem Tov, ProQuest CEO. “It’s a great honor to be recognized by Charleston Advisor readers and editors in this unique edition of the Readers’ Choice awards. Thank you to all of our users and staff – and we’ll continue to invest in the products and solutions that improve your teaching, learning and research outcomes.”
