Bowker's popular OPAC enrichment tool Syndetics Solutions is adding book reviews from The Guardian, one of the U.K.'s most respected newspapers. Libraries who subscribe to Syndetics Solutions can add the reviews to the bibliographic data displayed to patrons through their OPAC, the most common entry point to the library collection. Bowker is a member of the ProQuest® family of companies. "Syndetics Solutions consistently adds new data options that enable libraries to make their OPACs a more compelling source of information," said Sharon Lubrano, ProQuest vice-president and general manager of Bowker. "The Guardian reviews are a great addition because of their quality and their breadth of coverage."

The Guardian is an internationally recognized premiere news resource which publishes extensive, insightful reviews of books in its Saturday edition. Syndetic Solutions will provide The Guardian book reviews from 2000 to the present day. Review sources already available include influential and widely read book review publications such as The New York Times, Booklist, Publishers Weekly, Choice, Library Journal and School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, and others.

Book reviews comprise a portion of the 40 million unique descriptive data elements relating to books, audio books, and multimedia available to libraries through Syndetic Solutions' three platforms: Syndetics Classic, Syndetics Plus, and Syndetics ICE. Libraries use the data elements to strengthen the quality of information available to their patrons through their OPAC.
