University of Zagreb Chooses the ProQuest One™ Academic Database

University of Zagreb – the oldest and largest university in Croatia a – is the first institution in Eastern Europe to adopt the award-winning ProQuest One Academic database.

CAMBRIDGE, UK, November 19, 2019 – University of Zagreb – the oldest and largest university in Croatia and a research hub in its region – is the first institution in Eastern Europe to adopt the award-winning ProQuest One Academic from educational technology leader ProQuest.

ProQuest One Academic combines more than 250 years of multidisciplinary, curated content across journals, ebooks, video, dissertations and newspapers. Spanning more than 175 subjects, all content is available and cross-searchable within a single interface.

“The University of Zagreb is at the forefront of teaching and learning trends in the Eastern European region, but our students face the same challenges as many of their international peers. They are often overwhelmed by the volume of content at their disposal and unable to quickly find the most relevant resource to complete their work,” said Professor Miloš Judaš, Vice-Rector for Science, Inter-Institutional Cooperation and International Relations at the University of Zagreb.  “ProQuest One Academic introduces a much-needed single destination for all of our students' information needs.”

Alisa Martek, Library Advisor for licensing e-journals and databases at the National and University Library in Zagreb, added that the transition to ProQuest One Academic was a natural one because students were already familiar with accessing dissertations and theses through ProQuest. “The library team felt confident that the usability and simplicity of the platform will help students engage with any content – whether it’s a dissertation, an ebook or a video,” she said.

“The University of Zagreb is widely known for its progressive views and its strong research reputation,” said Jim Holmes, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at ProQuest. “We’re proud to partner with them as they adopt new technologies to serve their growing population and curriculum. With ProQuest One Academic, University of Zagreb is now well-positioned to address the evolving information needs of both faculty and students.”

The product was recently voted “best interface” by Charleston Advisor readers, and ccAdvisor described ProQuest One Academic as offering “both substance and style. ProQuest is about as intuitive as it gets."
