Cambridge Core Joins the ProQuest OASIS® Platform

ProQuest has teamed with Cambridge University Press to provide libraries access to the Cambridge Core platform and content via the OASIS platform.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, March 27, 2018 – ProQuest has teamed with Cambridge University Press to provide libraries access to the Cambridge Core platform and content via the ProQuest OASIS® platform. Over 30,000 ebook titles across 36 subject areas from Cambridge University Press and other publishers become available through the OASIS® selection and purchase system beginning 27th March 2018. Cambridge Core content and platform were developed with extensive user testing and input from more than 10,000 researchers, librarians and authors to ensure support of research and learning goals.

This alliance is part of ProQuest’s commitment to provide more options for libraries in ebook acquisition. Through the OASIS platform’s streamlined search, selection and acquisition tools, libraries can choose from one of the broadest curated print and ebook title databases in the industry. The OASIS platform includes ebook aggregator platforms such as the Ebook Central® and EBSCO®* platforms and Cambridge Core adds to the growing list of publisher and partner ebook platforms that also include UPSO, Wiley Online Library, Info-Sci, Taylor & Francis, De Gruyter, Karger and R2 Digital Library.

“Since 2016, there has been continuous momentum behind integrating preferred publisher platforms into the OASIS platform,” said Audrey Marcus, Vice President of Product Management at ProQuest. “Our goal is to offer libraries maximum flexibility in curating their collections according to the needs of their users, sparking superior research and learning outcomes. In purchasing through OASIS, libraries also benefit from a streamlined ordering process and improved book workflows.”

“Cambridge Core provides an advanced platform for Cambridge ebook publishing and development, with the user at its heart,” said Chris Bennett, Global Sales Director for Cambridge Academic Publishing. “Partnering with ProQuest to make Cambridge Core available via OASIS widens customer choice and helps us to build additional connections with libraries and researchers globally.”

In the last year, ProQuest has enriched the OASIS platform to simplify workflows and support faster and better collection development. These include additions of publisher and partner ebook platforms, significant user interface enhancements  and value-add features such as visibility into Access-to-Own available titles, a Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) MARC removal service, DDA add button, new title awards profile and collections support.
