CHICAGO, IL, October 18, 2017 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the number of libraries participating in the Ex Libris Alma® and Primo® implementation at the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC), in Washington, DC, has recently increased to 16.

Georgetown University’s Law Library, American University’s Pence Law Library, and George Washington University’s Jacob Burns Law Library and Himmelfarb Health Sciences Library will now be able to take advantage of the consortium’s implementation of the Alma library management service and Primo discovery and delivery solution. The Alma and Primo platforms will provide these libraries with new opportunities for collaboration, such as the sharing of resources and bibliographic information, to enhance services and support for faculty and students.

Mark D. Jacobs, executive director of the WRLC, noted, “Seamless discovery, access, and resource sharing are essential for our end users. Providing a library infrastructure that facilitates such sharing has been the mission of the Washington Research Library Consortium for 30 years. Alma and Primo have helped us expand the Consortium and fulfill this mission.

“Our commitment to the collective management of both print and digital resources requires a library services platform that can manage our large volume of data and transactions. Alma and Primo have the capacity and the innovative features that we need to increase coordination and collaboration within the WRLC and will enhance our ability to work together with our partner universities.”

Billie Jo Kaufman, associate dean and professor of law at American University, Washington College of Law, added, “The American University Pence Law Library is pleased to join the Alma and Primo integrated library system, providing our library users with an easy, inclusive access point to all resources available through the WRLC.  Alma and Primo will make our collaboration with the WRLC intuitive and clear to our library staff and patrons.  Together with the WRLC’s high level of service, the collaborative Alma and Primo system will provide clarity and budget-sensitive options not previously available.”

Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America, commented, “We are pleased to provide tools that enable consortia to promote learning and scholarship among their members. Alma and Primo are strengthening collaboration at the Washington Research Library Consortium and expanding the services that the partner libraries offer their user communities.”
