Université Paris-Saclay Chooses Ex Libris Primo Discovery and Delivery Solution to Increase Content Usage and Improve the Discovery Experience

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the Université Paris-Saclay consortium will deploy the Primo discovery and delivery solution at its 16 member institutions.

PARIS, FRANCE, May 29, 2017 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the Université Paris-Saclay (UPSaclay) consortium will deploy the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution at its 16 member institutions to increase content usage and create an optimum discovery experience for users.

UPSaclay is a French “ComUE,” or Communauté d’universités et d’établissements (Community of Universities and Institutions), a type of higher-educational and research consortium. Comprising three universities, seven research centers, and nine engineering and business schools, UPSaclay has more than 65,000 students and more than 10,000 researchers and teachers. The University also hosts research and educational centers for a number of international companies.

UPSaclay needs a consortial Discovery tool in order to allow access to the collections of its sixteen member institutions and to support PhD students and researchers across the campus as well as its collaborative research laboratories. Moreover, since each member institution has its own distinct mission, UPSaclay needs a discovery solution that will allow each member institution to share resources while allowing each library to configure the system to meet the needs of its own user community.

Camille Mazé, Manager of the UPSaclay Discovery Tool Project, explained, “Primo is perfectly suited to our consortial environment, because it provides us with the features and functionality we need to meet the diverse requirements of each library. Because the needs of each user differ, the Primo personalization elements will be of great benefit to researchers, teachers, and students alike. In addition, we are confident that with the Primo solution’s content neutrality, the usage of all the content that we purchase will continue to increase.”

Ofer Mosseri, corporate vice president and general manager of Ex Libris EMEA, commented, “I am delighted that the Université Paris Saclay has chosen Primo to optimize the usage of its extensive collection for a very diverse set of users. The decision proves that Primo can support students, teachers, and researchers alike.”
