TRAILS Chooses ProQuest’s Academic Complete and College Complete

Montana’s TRAILS consortia is offering ebook subscriptions Academic Complete and College Complete to boost usage and lower cost per search at two-and four-year schools.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, September 19, 2017 – Treasure State Academic Information and Library Services (TRAILS), a consortium of 24 colleges and universities throughout Montana, has chosen ProQuest Academic Complete® and College Complete™ ebook collection subscriptions to provide high-quality content and a powerful, intuitive user experience to its thousands of students, faculty and researchers.

“TRAILS is committed to making more and better information resources available to the students and faculty of Montana colleges,” said Pamela Benjamin, TRAILS’ Coordinator. “Academic Complete and College Complete represent big steps in that direction – not only by the way they balance quality and quantity in the selection of titles, but how these resources support the user from discovery to access to the reading experience. Those are huge benefits to our member libraries and the users they serve.”

Academic Complete and College Complete are renowned as foundational, multi-disciplinary resources with unlimited, multi-user access. Subscriptions are hand-curated by ProQuest’s on-staff librarians and tie to curriculum and graduation rate trending. The subscriptions grow up to 10 percent annually, ensuring library collections meet emerging research needs.

Users will access Academic Complete and College Complete through the ProQuest Ebook Central® ebook platform. Developed with extensive user testing, the Ebook Central® platform is designed specifically for the researcher’s workflow, supporting quick, effective discovery, evaluation, and access. Additionally, it provides time-saving tools for note-taking, highlighting, and citing that are used while researching, keeping users in context and reducing disruptions while they work.

Ebook Central also streamlines librarian workflows. The LibCentraladministrative core includes robust tools for selection across a range of acquisition models, including Access-to-Own, that enable librarians to maximize every budget dollar. Rich reporting and analytics such as real-time usage and expenditure summaries allow assessment of the libraries’ subscriptions, owned collections and  DDA activity. Librarians can even customize the patron experience from within LibCentral.

“Montana is leading the nation in on-time graduation rates. We aim to help them build on that momentum, greeting high school grads with relevant, high quality content that maps to their academic goals,” said Kevin Sayar, Senior Vice President and General Manager, ProQuest Books. “We applaud TRAILS’ decision to put Academic Complete and College Complete together. Offering their two and four-year member libraries content segmented to serve the needs of their users will translate into higher usage and lower cost per use.”
