Wiley Online Library Platform Now Accessible Via OASIS

ProQuest has joined forces with Wiley to make ebooks on the Wiley Online Library platform available for purchase via OASIS.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, September 1, 2016 – ProQuest has joined forces with Wiley to make ebooks on the Wiley Online Library platform available for purchase via OASIS®.

The OASIS search, selection and acquisition system already provides access to the largest ebook selection in the market via the EBL™, ebrary®, MyiLibrary®, and Ebook Central™ ebook platforms, as well as the EBSCO platform. With the addition of Wiley Online Library to OASIS, customers can search and order from an ebook platform encompassing more than 18,000 books, with new titles added twice a month. Titles span eight subject areas including Health and Medical Sciences, Life and Earth Sciences, Math and Statistics, and Chemistry.

“We are delighted to work with ProQuest to expand access to Wiley Online Library,” said Lisa Nachtigall, Director of Digital Sales Development at Wiley. “We understand the importance of streamlining acquisition through standard workflow tools and hope that the access to Wiley Online Library ebooks via OASIS will enable librarians to make title selections efficiently.”

OASIS is adding ebook platforms from a variety of publishers this month, including Oxford University Press and IGI Global. Discussions are also underway regarding partnerships with other key academic publishers, including Taylor & Francis Group, Cambridge University Press and World Scientific.

“Providing librarians with options to select ebooks from multiple platforms and publishers in OASIS gives them extra flexibility to navigate their very dynamic environment,” said Kevin Sayar, Senior Vice President and General Manager, ProQuest Books. “Enriching the platforms with exacting metadata, unique collection management tools and expert consultation from our Collections development staff creates an incredibly powerful resource.”

OASIS is ProQuest’s free web-based system for searching, selecting, and ordering print and electronic books for academic libraries. Through OASIS, users not only enjoy access to the broadest title database in the industry but also benefit from powerful search, profiling, collection management and reporting tools. In addition, the company’s strategic partnership with Ingram, the world’s largest book wholesaler, enables unparalleled speed and reliability in fill rates for print books via OASIS.
