Charles Darwin University Selects Ex Libris Alma and Primo

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce Australia’s Charles Darwin University has opted for a library services platform consisting of the Ex Libris Alma library management service and the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery platform.

ADELAIDE, Australia, August 31, 2016 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Australia’s Charles Darwin University (CDU) has opted for a library services platform consisting of the Ex Libris Alma® library management service and the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery platform. These two solutions will be replacing Intota™ and SirsiDynix Symphony® systems.

A number of factors were key to the university’s decision to move to Alma and Primo. In Alma and Primo, CDU found a superior user experience and an interface that would be mobile-friendly, accommodating any device, used in any place and at any time. In addition, with the Alma and Primo cloud platform and agile development, updates would be immediate and trouble-free. Finally, the CDU team was impressed by the strong analytics and unified workflows that Alma and Primo provide, as well as the robust and comprehensive APIs that are available.

Anthony Hornby, director of the office of library services at CDU, explained, “Our aim is to have a platform that promotes collaboration and makes it simple for users to participate in a vibrant and innovative user community both globally and in our region. With a strong track record of listening to customers and developing innovative products, Ex Libris is a company that we are happy to work with.”

Ziv BenZvi, vice president of Ex Libris Asia Pacific, remarked, “We are delighted that Charles Darwin University has chosen Alma and Primo to facilitate library management, improve the user experience, and foster collaboration within the university and with Ex Libris users worldwide. We welcome CDU to the Ex Libris community and look forward to a productive partnership with the university.”
