Birmingham City University Improves E-Resource Management and Assessment with ProQuest Solutions

Cambridge, UK, September 10, 2013 -Birmingham City University has recently added two ProQuest® management services, an e-resource management system (ERM) and assessment service, to address the complexities of managing and analysing usage of their e-resources.

"As we continue to invest such large percentages of our budgets to the provision of e-resources, we needed the right tools to measure their impact and inform our decision making. In 360 Counter and 360 Resource Manager, we are implementing systems which we can trust to help us make full use of the hard work which goes on behind the scenes, negotiating licenses, managing access, selecting and de-selecting resources, and of course making full use of our already established knowledgebase. Having worked closely on projects with Serials Solutions before, we were comfortable that they could help us realise the benefits quickly and with full support."
Paul Williams, eLibrary Manager Birmingham City University

360 Resource Manager and 360 Counter were chosen by the University following recommendation and previous experience using the products at other institutions. Enabling library staff to effectively track and control their resources resulting in a more streamlined approach, the 360 Resource Manager delivers a complete solution to managing the lifecycle of their e-resources. 360 Counter dramatically reduces the time they previously used to process and analyse usage data, allowing for more informed collection development decisions.
