Serials Solutions Announces New SFX®-Format KnowledgeWorks Report Feature

Serials Solutions today announced the release of a new feature that enables SFX® customers to take advantage of the authoritative e-resource metadata in the Serials Solutions® KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase.

Serials Solutions today announced the release of a new feature that enables SFX® customers to take advantage of the authoritative e-resource metadata in the Serials Solutions® KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase. The SFX-Format KnowledgeWorks Report now is available with a subscription to Serials Solutions® 360 Resource Manager, the premier e-resource manager service.

The new SFX-Format KnowledgeWorks reports enables libraries that use the SFX link resolver to populate the SFX knowledgebase using data from the proven and authoritative Serials Solutions KnowledgeWorks. Using this report, holdings and subscription data controlled in 360 Resource Manager can quickly and easily be shared with librarians and patrons through SFX. Therefore, SFX link resolver customers can save time and get more value for their libraries.

“For some time now, our users have been asking us for the ability to update the SFX knowledgebase with data from our KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase,” says Jeff Aipperspach, Senior Product Manager at Serials Solutions. “We partnered with several key customers to develop this feature to meet their needs for better data and time savings.”

The authoritative data from the KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase is the core of all Serials Solutions 360 services and provides a solid foundation for accurate and reliable e-resource access, management, and assessment. KnowledgeWorks makes it easy to maintain e-journals, eBooks, and local holdings. SFX users can save hundreds of hours each year by using this data to update the SFX knowledgebase directly through the SFX data loader.

The SFX-Format KnowledgeWorks Report is available 24/7 and enables librarians to select single, multiple, or all tracked databases, and flexibly report on selected fields. Libraries are able to leverage this data to optimize their investments in SFX-based applications, all while receiving superior customer service and support from Serials Solutions.

The SFX-Format reporting enhancement is provided at no additional cost to 360 Resource Manager subscribers.
