Serials Solutions releases Article Linker version 3.22

Serials Solutions, a business unit of ProQuest Information and Learning, announced the public release of Article Linker version 3.22. This new version of Article Linker, Serials Solutions’ acclaimed OpenURL link resolver, provides improved links to multiple genres (including books and dissertations) and adds or enhances article-level access to 45,000 journal titles in more than 100 databases.

Building on top of OpenURL 1.0 compliance, Article Linker now improves user experience and clarity when linking to non-serial items such as books, dissertations, patents, journals and “unknown” genre types. New metadata elements can also be included in custom links to ILL forms, OPACs, and any additional extended resources that a library defines to increase linking opportunities and prevent "dead-ends." The enhancements were designed to ensure that Article Linker continues to be the premier tool for enabling patrons to quickly and easily find specific items, anywhere in the library’s collection.

In addition, Article Linker 3.22 has added or updated 30 link resolvers that improve article-level access for 45,000 journal titles in more than 100 databases. These new and enhanced link resolvers allow Article Linker subscribers and patrons to get to desired content with a single click.

"Article Linker version 3.22 is a part of our ongoing commitment to respond directly to client requests by providing a steady flow of the most sought-after features and functionality," said JR Jenkins, Serials Solutions’ Group Product Manager for Resource Discovery Products. "Our hosted model enables us to provide these ongoing enhancements, with no work required from our subscribing libraries."

As with all Article Linker updates, the new functionality is available immediately, with no local update work required from librarians.
