Expanding Remote Access and E-Resource Support for Library Catalog Tools
Libraries may have closed their physical doors, but the need for library resources remains stronger than ever

To help libraries continue to serve their patrons from a distance, ProQuest has made several enhancements to our library catalog tools. We’ve added remote access and new functionality to Books in Print, Global Books in Print, Resources for College Libraries (RCL) and Syndetics Unbound. We’ve also made Book Display Widgets available at no cost to any library through August 1, 2020.
Here’s a summary of what’s now available to libraries:

- More visibility for your library’s electronic resources: A new feature in Syndetics Unbound labels, prioritizes and promotes electronic resources in a library’s catalog, giving patrons more visibility into the materials they can access remotely. This enhancement is available permanently to any Syndetics Unbound user. Enable this feature now.
- Remote access for Books in Print and RCL: Through August 1, subscribers to Books in Print, Global Books in Print and Resources for College Libraries who usually gain access through their library’s IP can now log in remotely through a unique username and password. To enable remote access, contact your ProQuest representative or connect with us to get your username and password.
- No-cost access to Book Display Widgets: Through August 1, all libraries can get free access to Book Display Widgets – dynamic, customizable virtual book displays that libraries can use to promote ebooks, electronic audio and other resources on social media and on the library’s website. Contact your ProQuest representative or connect with us to enable Book Display Widgets.
