Intro Copy

Video via School District of Palm Beach County The Palm Beach County School District in Florida is honoring the 17 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and staff killed on Valentine's Day 2018 with a list of 17 suggested random acts of kindness. The acts of kindness began on January 29, 2019 and ends today February 14. But random acts of kindness can continue well beyond this date. Some of the random acts of kindness in the Palm Beach County school district's list include writing someone a note that shows you care, being thoughtful by donating books or supplies to a school or library, and helping someone in any way you can. The school district encourages everyone to share their acts of kindness by using the hashtags #strongertogether and #17actsofkindness. If you are planning to incorporate random acts of kindness in your classroom, below are a few editorially-selected lesson plans we compiled: LESSON 4: Acts of Kindness (Scholastic) Kindness: A Lesson Plan (Edutopia) Living the Dream: 100 Acts of Kindness (Readwritethink) More information about National Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17 is provided in this blog post.
