15 Quotes About Libraries for National Library Week

This week, April 7-13, 2019, is National Library Week

It was first celebrated in 1958 as a way to promote reading among Americans. Sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April, it is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.

The national observance is supported by academic, public, school, and special libraries. This year's theme is Libraries = Strong Communities and the honorary chair is philanthropist and author Melinda Gates. In honor of National Library Week, here are 15 randomly selected quotes about libraries.
