Get a look at the newest and upcoming History Vault modules

ProQuest History Vault debuted in 2011, and is continuously adding numerous archival collections, all of which document the most important and widely-studied topics in eighteenth- through twentieth-century American history. These modules are part of a five-year plan of more than twenty-five individual modules of rich and varied content, creating a full spectrum of archival materials to complement coursework in many areas.

Below are a few of the modules released recently and a preview of those coming later this year:

ProQuest History Vault NAACP Papers: Special Subjects

The wide scope of NAACP activism and interest is revealed with files that cover subjects and events crucial to the organization’s history from 1933-1972. Researchers will discover important material on civil rights complaints and legislation, segregation and discrimination, the Klan, Birth of a Nation, Blacks and American politics, Black advancement, race relations in America during the period 1940-1955 covering a wide range of topics, in-depth coverage of the civil rights struggle during 1966-1972, and more.

ProQuest History Vault NAACP Papers: Branch Department, Branch Files and Youth Departments Files
Released in March 2014, this module chronicles the local heroes of the civil rights revolution via NAACP branches throughout the United States, from 1913-1972. The contributions of scores of local leaders—attorneys, community organizers, financial benefactors, students, mothers, school teachers, and other participants—are revealed in these records. Some of the most widely acclaimed recent scholarship in American history has focused on the local leaders and activists who transformed race relations in the United States during the 20th century and especially after the Second World War.
