University of California Hastings College of the Law Selects Ex Libris Alma and Primo Solutions

Ex Libris, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce the University of California Hastings College of the Law has chosen the Alma library services platform and Primo discovery and delivery solution.

CHICAGO, IL, April 10, 2018 – Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that the University of California (UC) Hastings College of the Law has chosen the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution to replace the Innovative Sierra integrated library system and the Innovative Encore discovery layer.

In adopting the Alma and Primo services, UC Hastings joins other institutions across California. As an Ex Libris library, UC Hastings will enjoy enhanced resource-sharing capabilities, tools for collaborative collection development, and the exchange of expertise and best practices with libraries at other UC schools and the California State University system.

UC Hastings Associate Dean for Library and Technology Camilla Tubbs commented, “We found Alma and Primo to be the best fit as an open platform that would include APIs and integration with third-party systems at little or no cost. The transition to the Ex Libris solutions provides our library with an excellent opportunity to look at our workflows holistically and ask ourselves where we want our library to go. We'll have a clean slate to improve, become more efficient, and carry out a much-needed cleanup of records. Every member of the library staff will be engaged in the larger discussion of the future of the library.”

“Ex Libris is excited to welcome the University of California Hastings College of the Law to our active California Alma and Primo user community,” said Eric Hines, president of Ex Libris North America. “The Alma-Primo platform will provide UC Hastings with enhanced patron-facing service capabilities and robust collaboration features.”
