ProQuest’s Beale and Tribble Elected to Industry Boards

Mr. Beale is responsible for revenue streams of ProQuest's published and distributed electronic, print and microform products to its varied markets around the world. A well-known industry leader, his extensive background and knowledge have been instrumental in bringing ProQuest’s increasingly diversified portfolio of products and services to the global marketplace. Now, as a member of the Content Division Board of Directors, Mr. Beale will help develop and prioritize the Division's initiatives and determine the projects, activities and events to be undertaken. He will serve a two-year term.

Mr. Tribble joined ProQuest nearly four years ago, after changing careers from astrophysics research to systems administration. Holding a Physics degree and a Doctorate in Theoretical Astrophysics from Oxford University, Mr. Tribble spent his early career developing a national bioinformatics service for scientists working on the Human Genome Project. His roots with the OpenSolaris project are deep: he was a beta tester for Solaris 7, 8, 9 and 10 and a founding member of the OpenSolaris project. Peter is one of the top three external contributors to the OpenSolaris codebase, a member of the London OpenSolaris User Group and was also awarded a Sun Innovation Award in 2009 for his SolView systems information viewer. As a member of the governing board, Mr. Tribble will help manage and direct the OpenSolaris community in its quest for continual improvements. The Board maintains the community’s constitution, oversees membership, resolves disputes, troubleshoots community problems, and enables and facilitates the people in the community to work with minimal interference.
