Serials Solutions is pleased to announce the December 2009 release of the new and improved Serials Solutions® 360 Search. This new service combines the best of 360 Search and WebFeat® into the single most powerful federated search solution available, and represents over ten years of development.

360 Search delivers accurate and stable connections to more than 5,000 resources using an advanced connection development framework. “Full-Text” and “Peer-Reviewed” filters help improve research experiences using a combination of data supplied by the Ulrich’s™ Global Serials Intelligence knowledgebase and the Serials Solutions KnowledgeWorks knowledgebase. These search filters enable users to limit the results of queries to full-text or peer-reviewed sources more reliably than ever before.

The new Administration Console enables librarians to apply web-based branding and control configuration from any location. The new and improved 360 Search will continue to deliver the most powerful results handling, using intelligent results clustering and sorting options to empower the end user. 360 Search also will support new localized user interfaces for many European and Asian languages.

The new 360 Search supports consortia and groups by enabling centralized management of shared resources and interfaces. Consortia managers can push selective data to libraries, and make discreet adjustments at the member level. Consortium members benefit from the top-down and bottom-up sharing of resources.

360 Search integrates with any OpenURL link resolver, RefWorks, Blackboard, and AquaBrowser discovery layer to provide a seamless and comprehensive resource discovery experience. You also can embed 360 Search into your own applications and user interfaces using the open source XML API for 360 Search.
