Serials Solutions Enhances Bibliographic Citation Management in Central Search
Serials Solutions, a business unit of ProQuest CSA, has announced the release of an enhanced bibliographic citation management utility for Central Search, its federated search service. Citation management in Central Search allows library patrons to use bibliographic citations for their own needs by saving them to a hard drive, emailing citation data, or exporting the information to an application such as RefWorks, EndNote, or ProCite.
Serials Solutions has enhanced the Central Search interface to include a checkbox next to each search result for bibliographic citation management. Users can select this box for single or multiple results throughout Central Search results pages and may save the results to use for further research. The Central Search citation manager works with all databases and all BCM applications, allowing for great flexibility and a diversity of uses.
“Bibliographic Citation Managers are popular with students because they allow them to easily collect citations and automatically use them in bibliographies for research papers,” says Katy Silberger, Automation Resources Librarian at Marist College, “We asked for this functionality from Central Search and Serials Solutions delivered.”
Central Search users will find this enhancement easy to use and a natural complement to the existing interface.
