The materials pertain to Caleb Strong, Sr., a Northampton tanner and his son. Caleb Strong, Jr. was a delegate to the Massachusetts Constitutional Convention, state senator, delegate to the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention, U.S. senator, and governor of Massachusetts during his career.
