ProQuest and Dow Jones Extend Alliance

Dow Jones Factiva provides centralized access to what many librarians feel are indispensable sources of information. Its online interface, Factiva.com, combines more than 17,000 sources of news from 159 countries and in 22 languages. This broad range of content provides both local insight and global perspective on business issues. Dow Jones Factiva complements such acclaimed ProQuest information products as ABI/INFORM® -- a suite of business databases in use in the top business schools throughout the world.
"The partnership between ProQuest and Dow Jones combines ProQuest's deep understanding of libraries and their users with Dow Jones Factiva's premium news and information content and services to provide the best business news resource in the library market," said Simon Beale, senior vice president of global sales for ProQuest. "Dow Jones is a core partner for ProQuest and we are delighted to continue and grow our relationship. We're looking forward to another three years of collaboration on product enhancements and new product ideas that will best serve the needs of researchers in the library space."
"Our continued collaboration with ProQuest supports Dow Jones's dedication to powering users with the information they need to make better decisions faster," said Richard Hanks, chief operating officer, Dow Jones Enterprise Media Group. "ProQuest has been a valued partner for Dow Jones for many years. Dow Jones shall continue to deliver a powerful business and research tool with robust and comprehensive content to the academic market."
Since 1997, ProQuest has partnered with Dow Jones, allowing the news provider to reach academic and public libraries. In 2005, the collaboration expanded to include global distribution of Factiva.com, for the academic market -- including for-profit and distance-learning institutions -- and public libraries. In 2006, the agreement expanded further to include distribution to corporate and government sectors in Latin America. Now, ProQuest and Dow Jones renew their commitment through 2011.
